Great material to pass the exam on first try, combined with on-hands experience. Covers applicable material an inch deep & a mile wide. Good review for those with hands on experience, although the practice questions are a bit nebulous when compared to actual test questions.

Tom has done a wonderfull job giving you the material to pass the exam. On top of that you will have an excellent source of information when dealing with network isssues related to voice and video applications. This book helped me pass the exam recently. I support a network with both voip systems and video conferencing and this book helped me clear up an issue I had been working on. The price of the book is well worth the money! Again thanks Tom!

I was very impressed with the illustration of the OSI seven-layer model and the mapping to the TCP/IP 4-layer model. Many books describe these two models, however this is the first time I saw how the data moves through the actual layers. Since it’s a model and not a law of physics, many books fall flat here. It took me up to my Network+ certification to fully understand what was going on. Tom also goes into great detail on how voice and video streams and regular data communications are merged.

Convergence+ is a new certification and there isn’t many books out there on the topic for the home study user. My experience is that one would be well equipped for the exam by studying Tom’s book. Like any certification process, the material must be reviewed more than once and important key areas must be written down to burn into memory. Access to live equipment will also aid in retention of the material.

I give this book five stars.

I’ve been working with VoIP and telecom for almost 10 years, but this book has some major points that clarifies a lot to me. Almost finished reading it.

This is a great book. I had taken the convergence exam before(twice before to be honest) and I knew I had found the right study material in this book. If it had more and I mean a lot more information on SIP and the end of chapter quizes and master exams were more challenging I would give it five stars. Having said that I read the book, took notes, took the practice quizes and master exams, and passed the test with a decent score.

Great book very thankful to the authours.I’m a fan.
